Welcome to the Wednesday edition of our daily Virginia Trump campaign update! We will provide our readers with daily updates on the Trump Virginia campaign from today to November 3 (and after…if need be!).
It’s officially 27 days until the election on November 3 – and 24 days until early voting in Virginia closes. The deadline to register to vote in time for the 2020 election is October 13, six days from today.
President Trump remains at the White House recovering from COVID-19 and continuing to work for the American people.
Mr. Trump tweeted Tuesday that he has called for the end of negotiations on a new round of COVID-19 relief until after the election.
The president cited that part of the more than $2 trillion Democrats are asking for “is in no way related to COVID-19. We made a very generous offer of $1.6 Trillion Dollars and, as usual, [House Speaker Nancy Pelosi] is not negotiating in good faith.”
As reported in yesterday’s TRUMPDATE, “Operation MAGA” has officially launched. Members of the Trump family, along with top-level members of the president’s re-election campaign, will be taking part in virtual campaign events connecting with voters and supporters.
Vice President Mike Pence is set to debate Democrat nominee Senator Kamala Harris tonight. The debate is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. It’s the only time they will meet face to face before the election, and Vice President Pence will lay out reasons why Americans should keep President Trump in the White House for four more years and showcase the accomplishments of the Trump-Pence administration in the first term.
The Team Trump Virginia campaign will be watching the debate, cheering Vice President Pence on as here in the commonwealth, the final push to Election Day is in full swing.
Volunteers for the Trump re-election campaign have knocked on more than 2 million doors so far, while the Biden campaign continues to sit back and wait. In Virginia one recent poll by Democrat-favoring FiveThirtyEight shows Joe Biden with a double-digit lead on President Trump.
But the president and his campaign have routinely said that Virginia is absolutely in play, and part of that comes down to the strong ground game the Trump campaign has mustered. Resources have been devoted to grassroots campaigning, and it’s likely to be rewarded on November 3.
